In every plan

A site diary that starts part filled in

Sitestack builds each day's report from what the job already knows: who signed in, what was completed and what is behind programme. You check it, add what is missing and sign it off.

Best for: Site managers and contracts managers who want a dated daily record without writing it from scratch each evening. In every plan, nothing extra to pay.

The report fills in as the day goes

  • Started for you

On a day with activity on site, such as sign ins, photos or completed tasks, a draft report is started each evening. You open it and edit it, rather than begin with a blank page.

  • Who was on site

Labour lines come from the programme and site sign ins. You check the numbers, add hours and add anyone the app could not know about.

  • Work done and delays

Milestones, stages and tasks completed that day appear as work done lines. Milestones and tasks behind programme appear as delays. Remove a line and it is not added again.

  • Copy from the last report

Labour and plant tend to repeat, so you can bring them forward from the last report and change what differs.

Everything a daily report holds

  • Weather

Morning and afternoon conditions, temperatures and rainfall. The app can fill them from model weather for the site. It says so, so nobody mistakes it for what you saw.

  • Plant, deliveries and visitors

Record plant hired or owned, hours worked and hours stood. Add deliveries with docket numbers and visitors with times in and out.

  • Lost time and instructions

Log delays with start and end times and the cause. Note instructions given on site and who gave them.

  • Photos on the report

Attach the day's photos to the report. They keep their date, time and location from the photo record.

Sign off and keep the record

  • Submit, then sign off

Whoever writes the report submits it. Someone with sign off rights reviews it and signs it off, or returns it with changes.

  • Locked once signed

A signed off report cannot be edited or deleted. Anything later goes in as a dated note beneath it, so the original stays as it was.

  • PDF for a day or a run of days

Download one day, or up to 31 days in one file. Useful for the client, the insurer or your own files.

      Plain words

What it does and does not do

What it does not do. Weather filled from model data is not a reading from your site. The app marks it, and you can replace it with what you saw. Sitestack keeps the record. It does not tell you what you must record.

      Questions

      Site diary: what people ask

Does the site diary work on a phone?
Yes. The app is built for use on site, with big buttons on the phone. The daily report is on the job's diary page.
Does it write the report for me?
It fills in what it can know: who signed in, work completed, items behind programme and the weather. You check it and add the rest. What you have written is never overwritten by the evening fill.
Can I stop a report being changed after it is signed?
Yes. Signing off locks the report. You can add dated notes under it, but the report itself cannot be edited or deleted.
      Who can sign reports off?
Anyone you give the sign off permission to, as long as they can also write reports. Permissions are set per person.
      Can I download diary reports?
Yes. Download a single day as a PDF, or choose a run of up to 31 days in one file.
Do subcontractors and clients need to pay to see the diary?
Logins for subcontractors, consultants and clients are free. The diary is a tool for your own team, so outside logins are not given diary access by default.
